On December 20, 2025, the 1st annual Inteational Conference of the Azerbaijan Migraine Specialists Public Association (AMMIB) was held in Baku. The event, dedicated to the topic of “Global Perspectives in Headache Medicine”, was successfully held with the organizational support of SEM Academy.
It should be noted that the chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Sarkhan Amirguliyev, is the Head of the Migraine and Headache Center located at the Citomed clinic.
At the opening of the conference, the co-founder of AMMIB and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Sarkhan Amirguliyev, stated that the main goal of the event is to expand the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of headache and migraine, share inteational experience and strengthen regional cooperation. He also emphasized the special importance of holding the conference on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Migraine Specialists Public Association, valuable scientist Prof. Dr. Masud Ashina.
The official part was addressed by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev, the rector of Azerbaijan Medical University Garay Garaybeyli, the rector of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Advanced Training of Doctors named after A. Aliyev Nazim Panahov, and the head of the “YAŞAT” Foundation Elvin Huseynov.
The event was assessed as an important platform in terms of the development of scientific approaches in the field of diagnostics and treatment of migraine and headaches. Within the framework of the event, the latest scientific research, clinical discussions and mode treatment strategies were presented by inteational and local experts invited from Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, the USA and Turkey.
During the conference, the chairman of the AMMIB, Prof. Dr. Sadagat Huseynova, the chairman of the conference, Prof. Dr. Masud Ashina, the member of the Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Ayten Mammadbeyli, Prof. Dr. Rovhan Hasanov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahim Aliyev actively participated as speakers in master classes and sessions.
At the end of the day, an interactive panel was held with the participation of inteational experts and local neurologists, and the conference was closed with a closing speech.
